Franklin County was established on Jan 1, 1819. The population of the
county is around 90,000 in the area of 922 sq. mi.

a three member County Commission led by the Presiding Commissioner plus
has 11 municipalities.
For years, Franklin County's economy was dependant on manufacturing, but nowadays the industrial base is much more diverse and the area is prosperous.
The major development of the area came with the railroad in the middle of the 19th century.
